A beautiful native perennial known to be a keystone species for ecological restoration, whether it is in a large scale meadow or a couple throughout your home landscaping. An important late season bloomer for pollinators from late summer through fall. Supports 33 native pollen specialist bees among a number of other pollinators such as butterflies, moths, and hummingbirds. Beautiful purple blooms with a yellow center, reaching 2-4 feet in height. Tolerates dry to medium soils. Host plant for the Pearl Crescent butterfly and the Wavy-Lined Emerald moth.
